OUR PATENT STOVES, the CHUNK and VESTA, are the only ones recommended by the faculty for the Bed-rooms of Invalids, and other places where a healthful and genial warmth is requisite. The principle upon which these Stoves diffuse heat is peculiar to them, the fire being contained in a pail or cockle which is surrounded by a. volume of heated air inside the body of the Stove by which means the outer surface is never so heated as to render the air of the apartment dry or unpleasant. The Stoves are without doors, from which in Arnott's (whether improved or not) and in others, the impure gases escape; consequently, the evils attendant upon such escapes, unavoidable where any description of doors are employed, as head-ache, dizziness, &c., as well as fatal explosion cannot occur in the use of our Stoves. These Stoves, having stood the test of four years, during which time upwards of FIVE THOUSAND have been fixed in Chapels, Shops, Halls, Conservatories, Forcing-Pits, Nurseries, Libraries, &c., we can more confidently offer them than we could with such extensive and successful trials. They have been found to combine, in an extraordinary design great simplicity in use and certainty of action, with perfect safety, at an almost incredibly small cost for fuel (coke or cinders). The celebrity of the rich and Silvery appearance and extreme durability of the Material made exclusively by ourselves, has induced many attempts to foist upon the public the notoriously deleterious German Silver under the guises of "Albata Plate," "Berlin Silver," &c. &c., against which we especially warn them. Aided by an eminent Chemist, we have succeeded in purifying our Material so that acids do not affect it; it is now so well known and appreciated that it is universally superseding Silver in all its uses. The genuine metal, which is more durable than Silver, can only be had at Warehouses. It is the same throughout, and can be Engraved; it is made in all the various Articles that are in Silver, from which it can only be told by reference to the Stamp.
