The World Factbook—1982
The World Factbook is produced annually by the Directorate of Intelligence of the Central Intelligence Agency. The data are provided by various components of the Central Intelligence Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Bureau of the Census, and the US State Department. In general, information available as of 1 January 1982 was used in the preparation of this edition. Exceptions to the 1 January cutoff date are explained on page vii.
