INDEX OF PLACES
WHICH OCCUR IN THE
ROUTES OF THE DIFFERENT COACHES
GOING FROM THE METROPOLIS.
Places printed in the Roman Character are those through which Coaches pass in the Prosecution of their Journey to some Town more remote from the Metropolis.
The Italic Character denotes that there are Coaches whose Journeys terminate at the Place; the References to such Coaches are printed within Brackets []: where other Figures precede or follow those included within the Brackets, they relate to Coaches which pass through the Place.
M. following the Figure of Reference, signifies the Mail Coach.
The Numbers opposite the Name of each Place correspond with those annexed to the Coaches in the List of Inns which immediately succeeds this Index.
EXAMPLE.
Supposing a Conveyance to Abberford to be wanted—see in this Index the Name of Abberford, and the Numbers opposite, 206, 488;—turn to either of these Numbers in the List of Inns, where will be found the Coach which passes through that Place; viz. [206], Aberdeen and Edinburgh Coach, Bull and Mouth Inn ; &c. &c
