The Saint, a smooth-faced monk, holding a lily branch in his right hand, supports on his arms an open book, on which the Infant Saviour is seated, embracing the Saint with his left arm. Panel, 24 in. by 20 in. Described in Curtis « Velazquez and Murillo ». p. 23 ~, n* 299.

The Saint, seated in a reclining position on a rock, holding a pen in his outstretched right hand, and a book in his left, looks up as if he heard a voice from Heaven: on his right, the eagle. Full-length. Life-size.

Canvas, 68 in. by 48 in. From the Collection of M. Robit, Paris. 1801 . Etched by John Young, in the Leigh Court Gallery. Described in Dr. Waagen's « Art Treasures », vol. III . p . 184, as follows : « St. John the Evangelist in ecstazy, which is admirably expressed in the realistic head.
