(Known as the Chevalier de St. George, or the old Pretender, son of James II, by his second wife, Mary of Modena; born June 10, 1 688, at St. James’ Palace; married in 1719 to Clementina Maria Sobieski, grand-daughter of John III, King of Poland. Died at Rome.)

Nearly full-length, in armour, standing, his head bare, his right hand resting on his helmet: landscape background with a skirmish going on; and beyond, to the right, some buildings.
