If it is not apparent that the name is that of a licensee, it will be assumed that the party named is the proprietor.
2.
Where a notice names both the copyright owner and a licensee (e.g., "Copyright 1960 by Herman Schmitt. Tinpan Music Co., U.S. Licensee"), registration m~ be made in the name of the copyright owner (Herman Schmitt) but not in the name of the licensee.

Variant form of claimant's name.
a.
Minor variations.
1.
Where there are relatively minor variations be­tween the form of the claimant's name or corporate title in the application and in the notice, reg­istration will be made without correspondence.
2.
Where the variance is quite minor, or where it involves mere descriptive matter, no annotation is made.
