FORCE OF CONJUNCTIONS.

1. Ab, but.

Obinob us, ab mutol binön id us.
I shall be there, but you must be there also.

2. Adas, in order that.

Egivob ome doabis lul adas olabom moni sätik.
I have given him five dollars in order that he may have enough money.

3. As, in capacity of.

Logimom as man snatik.
He poses as an honest man.

4. Äs, like.

Jinom äs man snatik.
He seems like an honest man.

5. Bi, as (since, because).

Bi no e'kömoms no oblibob lonedumo.
As they have not come I shall not remain longer.

6. Das, that.

7. Dat, similar to adas.

Zesüdos pönön omi dat omemom osi fovo.
He must be punished that he may remember it hereafter.

8. Do, though.

Stimob omi, do nestimom obi.
I honor him, though he despises me.

9. Du, while.

Efeitom kiniko du ebinom in klig.
He fought bravely while he was at the war.

10. Du,' although.

Jinom plöpön, dü binom kösömo nedutik.
He seems to succeed although he is usually idle.

11. Sod, but (only, however, after negation).

No binom bäledik sod malädnik e nefimik.
He is not old but sick and infirm.

(Ab is always permissible in place of sod, and the use of ab will prevent error.)
