(11) any regulations made for the purposes of or in connexion with such state of emergency: (111) anything done by any authority. person or body of persons or any court under the provisions of any such declaration or regulations; (b) indemnifying any authority, person or body of persons against any action, indictment or proceedings in any court for, or on account of, or in respect of any act or thing whatsoever, advised, commanded, ordered, directed or done- (1) under or by virtue of such state of emergency or such regulations during the existence of the state of emergency, or (11) in connexion with the attainment by Rhodesia of sovereign independent status Part 3—Interpretation 144. (1) In this Constitution, unless the context otherwise loterpreta- requires- tion of terms "Act" means a law enacted by the Legislature of Rhodesia; "constitutional Bill" means & Bill which, when enacted, would have the effect of amending, adding to or repeal- ing any of the provisions of this Constitution: "Council of Chiefs" means the Council of Chiefs of Rho. desia established under the provisions of the Council of Chiefs and Provincial Assemblies Act (Chapter 11 l) or any Act amending or replacing the same or such other body representative of the Chiefs of Rhodesia as may from time to time be established by a law of the Legis- lature; “Federal" means appertaining to the former Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland; "Federation" means the former Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. "Gazette" means the Official Gazette of the Government of Rhodesia: "Governor" means the person who, immediately prior to the appointed day, held the office of Governor under the old Constitution;
