Dutch school ; por- trait painter, pupil of Willem Willemsz and of Augustyn, then at Utrecht of Blockland ; entered the guild of The Hague in 1025 ; painted also mythological subjects. Charles I. invited him to Eng- land to paint his portrait. Archduke Al- brecht gave him a pension.
