Tuckerman, 450. LAMBERT, GEORGE, born in Kent in 1710, died in London, Nov. 30, 1765. Pu- pil of William Hassel and of John Wooton ; painted landscapes chiefly, after the manner of Gaspar Poussin. Some of his figures are attributed to Hogarth, of whom he was a convivial friend. Lambert was first presi- dent of the Society of Artists, and founder of the Beefsteak Club.
