FROMENT, NICOLAS, born at Avignon,
flourished 1461-76. French school. This
master, whose name has only recently been
found in the archives of Marseilles, flourished
at the court of King René of Anjou.
In the Flemish character of his works he
approaches the style of Rogier van der Weyden.
