name Capponi,
but commonly
called del Garbo
(the Graceful).
Pupil of Filippino
Lippi, with
whom he remained
until about 1490. He was a weak
follower of his master's style. He appears
to best advantage in his Madonna with Angels;
Madonna with Saints and Angels; and
Madonna with Angels, Cherubs, and Saints,
Berlin Museum. The first-named group is
almost Raphaelesque in its conception.
