T. G. MASARYK,
President of the
CZECHOSLOVAK REPUBLIC
to
CALVIN COOLIDGE,
President of the
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A great Idealist has departed: a true American, a devoted champion of American democratic Ideals, a sincere believer in humanity and mankind. In the name of the Czechoslovak Republic I express to you, your Government and the American Nation heartfelt sympathy. We are grateful to Wilson and the American Nation for helping us so magnanimously during the war and at the Peace Conference in recovering our liberty. Personally I am grieved at having lost a real friend.
