Born June 10th, 1814 ; succeeded his cousin in 1858 ; is a Col. in the Canadian Militia : married (1841) Mary Eliza, the 3rd daughter of Edward Journeaux, Esq. of Melbourne, East Canada, and has issue, living, Sons, Matthew, b. 1842: appointed Ensign in the 7th Foot, 1864, became Lieut. 1869, retired 1870. Henry, b. 1843, m. 1870. Frederick Whitworth, b. 1850. Daughters, Isabella, b. 1845, m. 1872 (Aylmer ) .Eliza Jane, b, 1855. Brother living, Henry, b. 1816, m. 1845. Sister living, Caroline Amelia Sophia, b. 1820, m. 1850, (Lloyd). Creations. Baron Aylmer, of Balrath, co. Meath, in the peerage of Ireland, 1718. A Baronet, 1662. 3rms, Quarterly: 1st and 4th, argent, a bend, sable, and in chief a garb, gules, Whitworth', 2nd and 3rd, argent, across, sable, between four Cornish choughs, proper, Aylmer. CrfSt, 1st, out of a ducal coronet, or, a garb, gules, Whitworth -, 2nd, out of a ducal coronet, or, a demi-Cornish chough rising, proper, Aylmer. Supporters, Two sailors habited proper, the dexter holding in his exterior hand a forestaff, and the sinister a leadline. Residence, Melbourne, East Canada. AYLMER, Baron, His lordship's predecessor was his cousin, Frederick William, K.C.B, 6th Baron, b. Oct. 12, 1777; succeeded his brother, Feb. 23, 1850; he was an Admiral in the Navy, and greatly distinguished on foreign service ; he d. unmarried, March 5, 1858. Ayr, Viscount, title borne by the Marquess of Bute.
