Sat as M.P. for Derby 183048, for Arundel 18512, for Nottingham 1852 6; was Chief Commissioner of Railways 18468, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster 1852 4, and Chairman of the of purpose. ^ Nottinghamshire Quarter Sessions 1855 73 ; is a Magistrate for Derbyshire and Leicestershire ; was High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire 1850: married (1837) Amelia Harriet, youngest daughter of the late Right Rev. William Otter, D.D., F.R.S., Lord Bishop of Chi- chester, and has issue, living, Sons, Henry, b. 1840; educated at Harrow and at Trinity College, Cambridge (LL.B. 1863); is Capt. in the South Nottingham Yeomanry Cavalry, a Magistrate for Derbyshire, and a Magistrate and a Dep. Lieut, of Nottinghamshire ; sat as M.P. for East Derbyshire (L.) 1868 till Feb. 1874, when he was an unsuccessful candidate : m. 1874, Lady Margaret Coke, daughter of the 2nd Earl of Leicester.
