He was born Jan. 4th, 1817, and succeeded his father, Jan. 18th, 1838: m. April 20th, 1838, the Hon. Anne De-Burgh, who d. 18/2, eldest daughter of fehe 2nd and last Baron Downes, G.C.B. and d. Feb. 7th, 1866, having had issue three sons and four daughters. Clonmore, Baron, title borne by the Earl of Wicklow. Clnn, Baron, title borne by the Duke of Norfolk. Clydesdale, Marquess of, title borne by the Duke of Hamilton. Cobham, Viscount & Baron, titles borne by the Duke of Buckingham. Cochrane, Lord, son of the Earl of Dundonald. Born Feb. 13, 1842; suc- ceeded his father in 1867 ; educated at Eton, and at Christ Church, Oxford (Stan- hope Prize, 1861, 1st class in Classics and 1st class in Law and Modern History. 1863, Fellow of All Souls', 1864, M.A, 1865) ; was Private Secretary to the 14th Earl of Derby, K.G. 1867, in which year he was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn ; is a Dep. Lieut, and a Magistrate for Sussex ; unsuccessfully contested East Sussex, 1865, and Devonport, 1866: married (1869) the Hon. Isabella Grace Maude, eldest daughter of the 4th Viscount Hawarden. Heir presumptive, His cousin, the Rev. Charles Henry Philip, eldest son of the Hon. Philip Henry Abbot, who was brother of the 2nd Baron. B. 1832; was educated at Westminster, and at Christ Church, Oxford. (B.A. 1853, M.A. 1857); is Rector of Withington, Herefordshire: m. 1865, Maria Lear, youngest daughter of the late Rev.
