Born March 12th, 1825 ; succeeded his father in 1860; educated at Eton, and at Christ Church, Oxford, (B.A. 1846) ; sat as M.P. for South Not- tinghamshire, 1852 60; was appointed Capt. South Notts. Yeomanry Cavalry 1851, and Lieut. -Col. Commandant, 1868; is a Dep. Lieut, and a Magistrate for Nottinghamshire: married (1852) Geor- giana Jane Elizabeth Fanny de Franquetot, daughter of Gustave Due de Coigny, and has issue, living, Sows, Charles William Sydney, Viscount Newark, d. 1854; educated at Eton; entered Grenadier Guards as Sub-Lieut. 1872, became Lieut. 1874.
