DEBRETT'S ILLUSTRATED BARONETAGE. This family is descended from Odp du Barentm, who came to England with the Conqueror, Fifteenth in descent from Odo, who received grants of land in Essex, and became custodian of Hatfield forest, was Sir Francis Barrington, of Barrington Hall, Essex, created a baronet 1611. This title became extinct, upon the death of the loth baronet, in 1833 ; but prior thereto (1831) a baronetcy had been conferred upon a younger branch, Sir Joseph Barrington, of Limerick, who, with his sons, founded the Limerick Hospital and Infirmary, an institution incorporated by Act of Parliament.
