Coldstream Guards : m. 1867, Mary Elizabeth, only da. of the late Joseph Gill, Esq., of Trewern, Salop, and Burley, Yorkshire, and has Sola nobilitas virtus. Crest Out of a ducal coronet or, an oak-tree proper fructed of the first and penetrated transversely in the main stem by a frame-saw proper, the frame also of the first, and the blade inscribed with the word "Through." (one of the five " Kentish Petitioners" in 1701), brother of the 6th Earl of Abercorn, and succeeded to the Baronetcy of Marlborough House, Hants (cr. 1776) on the death of his cousin, Col. Sir Charles John James Hamilton, C.J5-, 3rd Bart, (who was 4th in descent from William Hamilton, ante) in 1892, HAMILTON, Creation 1892, of Cadagan Square, co. London. Sir CHARLES EDWARD HAMILTON, ist Baronet, son of the late John Hamilton, Esq. ; b. May aSth, 1845 ; formerly Lieut. -Col. 8oth Lancashire Rifle Vol., and retired 1881 with permission to retain his rank ; is a J.P. for Lancashire and for Liverpool City; sat as M.P. for Southwark, Rotherhithe Div. (C) Nov. 1885 to June 1892: m. 1867, Mary, da. of G. McCorquodale, Esq., and has issue.
