Residence, The descent of this title is stated to be as follows : John Malcolm (said to be son of John Malcolm, of Balbeadie, who d. 1692, having ;//. Margaret, who d. 1698, aged 72, dau. of Sir Michael Arnot), was created a Baronet of Nova Scotia 1665. He was succeeded by his el. son, John, 2nd Bart., who was fol'owed in the Baronetcy by his second son, Michael, served heir as 3rd Bart., in turn succeeded by his son Michael, 4th Bart. The 5th Bart, was James, who had been served heir general to his father, Robert Malcolm, of Grange, a descendant of Robert, 2nd son of ist Bart. At the death of Sir James in 1805 (150 years after the creation of the title), the dignity is said to have devolved, as 6th Bart., upon John, znd son of Michael Malcolm, 3rd son of ist Bart., at whose decease, in iSiS, his el. son, Michael, was served heir to his father and also to the 5th baronet, and in 1828 his son, John, as 8th Bart. In 1865 Sir James (ante), son of James Malcolm, 2nd son of 6th Bart., was served heir to his cousin, as gth Bart. MALET, Creation 1791, of Wilbury House, Wiltshire.
