BRADY, Sir Thomas Francis, 2nd son of the late Patrick William Brady, Esq., i of Cavan ; b. 1824 ; ed. at Trin. Coll., , Dublin ; entered Public Service 1846, and shortly after the Irish Fisheries Depart. ; appointed Inspector of Irish Fisheries 1863, and soon after Sec. to a Commn. on ; English Fisheries ; in 1868 as member of a , Roy. Commn. on Sea and Oyster Fisheries visited all the important Oyster Fisheries in England and France ; in 1883 was a member of Committee of Great Inter- national Fisheries Exhibition, and in 1884 ' a member of the Roy. Commn. on Trawl- ing (United Kingdom) ; sometime one of H.M.'s Inspectors of Irish Fisheries, and a Commr. of Piers and Harbours in Ireland ; is Hon. Representative and Agent-Gen, in Ireland for the Shipwrecked Fishermen .and Mariners' Roy. Benevolent So. ; has on several occasions of famine and distress on W. Coast of Ireland distinguished him- self in procuring large sums of money for the distressed poor and relieving them ; in 1880 was one of the Committee nominated by Sec. of State for the Colonies to distribute 100,000 dollars voted by the Dominion of Canada to relieve Irish distress, and in recognition of his services his name is inscribed on a tablet in the Mansion House, Dublin : m. ist, Sarah, da. of T.
