multiple-winged 'mAltipal/wirjd adj. [also spelt multiple* wingd] same meaning as multiplefwing.

multiply 'mAlti-pti adv. in a multiple manner; in a mani- fold way; by many paths: as, a muliply^connected region of fluid^fild space.

murky 'niBcki adj. dark, obscure, gloomy.

muslin 'mAzlin n. any one of several kinds of fine cotton cleth, sometimes used in making aerial apparatus.

��nacelle ,ne'sel, ,nse'sel n. the car of a balloon; the frame- work or body of a dirigible balloon or other airship; the bedy?frame; the fuselage.

nadir 'nee-daz n. the point directly underneath the observer; the point epposit to the zenith.

nainsook 'neen,suk, 'neen-sok n. a cetton fabric, a kind of muslin or jaconet of East Indian engin, sometimes used in making kites.

nausea 'nc:-$3 n. a feeling of sickness with inclination to vemit; seasickness.

navigable 'naeviga-bsl adj.

1. admitting of being navigated; affording passage for airships : said of the air or atmosfere.

2. capable of being navigated or guided; steerable; diri- gible : as, a *navigable balloon.

navigate 'naevi/get v.

1. tr. sail or drive : as, to *navigate a balloon.

2. tr. sail in or thru : as, to *navigate the air.

3. intr. sail or travel thru the air or atmosfere. navigating-level 'naevi-getirj^evsl n. a horizontal tjact or

level, in the atmosfere, which is adapted for aerial navi- gating or sailing : as, the inversion *navigating?level.
