counterdraft 'kaun-t3z,dra:ft n. a draft or current of air which runs counter to another; an epposit or opposed atmosferic current; a counter^current. counter-glow 'kaon-t9z,gloo n.

1. the glow or light in the eastern sky after sunset, due to atmosferic dust, and limited below by the tiuilightearch.

2. same meaning as gegenschein.

countershaft 'kaon-t3z,$a:ft n. an intermediate shaft driven from a main shaft for giving motion to a particular ma- chine.

countertrade 'kaon-t8?>tgeed n. a wind which is above the tr,adewmd, and blows counter (or in the epposit direction) to it. or away from the equator; an antitrade; a return^tjade.

counter-wake 'kaon-t9z,week n. a wake or current which opposes or runs counter to one alredy existing; a counter? current surrounding the ded^water of wake current of a streamline bedy and flowing in the epposit direction from that of the wake; a counterwake current.

counter-wind ^caun-t9z,wmd n. a wind blowing counter to, or in a direction epposit to, one alredy existing.

1. the action of running or moving onward; forward movement, as of an airship; a run.

2. the path, line, or direction of a run; the path of a bedy moving thru the air; the direction of the flight of an aerofoil; the flightepath.

3. a racecourse for flying^machines ; an aviationscourse. course-finder 'ko:zs,fain-d9z n. a device for finding or de- termining the course or flightepath of an airship.

covering 'kAva-zirj n. the fabric, paper, or other material, which covers or is spred over the framework of a kite and forms the main sustaining^surface.

covert 'k-Avazt n. one of the fethers covering the bases and adjacent parts of the larger wing^fethers and taikfethers of a bird; a tectjix; especially, a covertef ether of the wing; a wmg^covert.
