It may be added, as a proof of the appreciation in which Dr Maclure is held in educational circles and the city generally, that he received recently, on the occasion of the Owens College Jubilee, the degree of LL.D. Honoris Causâ from the Victoria University, in presenting him for which distinction the Principal of Owen's (Dr Hopkinson) mentioned the services rendered by the Dean to the cause of education in Manchester.—The Author.
