Farrar, Major William, son of Colonel William I'arrar and Mary, his wife, was horn i()57, dietl 1715: justice of Henrico county. I()85-I7I5: sheritl, lUjo and other years; burgess in 1700-1702. He married (hrst) Priscilla, daughter of William Baugh jr.. and (second) Mary, widow of William I.igon. He probably died in 1721, as in May of that year, his widow Mary pre- s«.nted an iinentorv of his estate in llen- rico county cv.rt.
Farrell, Major Hubert, was one of I'.erke- U-y"s (jfficers during llacon's rebellion. \vas \\ ounded in defence of Jamestown, and killed in a fight at Colonel Nathaniel r.jicon's house at King's Creek in August, 1676. He married Dorothy, daughter of Colonel Thomas Drew, of Charles City county. Her tomb which was removed a few years ago from W'eyanoke. Charles City county, to St. Paul's Church, Norfolk, states that she died January 18, iC)73.
Fanlcon, Nicholas, was a burgess for Surry county in the assembly of 1772- 1774, in the place of Hartwell Cocke, who died about August, 1772.
Fawdoin (Fawdown), George, resided in Isle of Wight county where he was major of the militia in 1653, and btirgess in 1646 and 1652. He married Ann Smith, who wa.s daughter of the first wife of Colonel Nathan- iel Bacon, Ann Bassett.
Fauntleroy, Moore, was a member of an
ancient English family and was son of John
I'auntleroy, gentleman, and Phoebe Wilkin-
son, his wife, of Crondall, Hampshire. He
settled, first at Nansemond. and afterwards
rcmo\ ed to the northern neck of X'irginia.
He was major and colonel of the militia,
and l)urgess for Cpper Norfolk, Nansemond
county, in n>45 and iC>47; for Lancaster
countw in U)5i. H>53 and \('>$(y; and for Rap-
])ahannock count}- in K^y) and 1660. He
was a man of great influence in the colony.
He married (first) in England. Dorothy,
(h'ughter of Thomas Colle ; (second) in
X'irginia. Mary Hill. He died before 1665,
having issue.
Fauntleroy, William, grandson of Colo- nel .Moore Fauntleroy ( (j. v.). and son of W illiam I'auntleroy. of Rappahannock county, bv Katherinc (irifiin, his wife, was 1)orn in 1684; was lieutenant-colonel of the Richmond county militia and burgess for that count}- in 1736-1740. 1742. 1747 and 1749. He married Ai)phia, daughter of John Bushrod, of Westmoreland county, and died j^' ^757' leaving issue.
Fawcett (Fossett), Thomas, was a bur- gess from Martin's Hundred in the assem- l>lies of 1629 and 1629- 1630.
Feild, John, son of Abraham h'eild. of (. ulpeper county, serxed as caj)tain in the French and Indian war, was burgess for Culpeper in the assemblies of 1761-1765, 1 766-1768, and was killed while colonel of a regiment at the battle of F^oint Plea.^ant, October 10, 1774.
Feild, Henry, Jr., son of Henry Feild, succeeded his father as vestryman of St. Mark's parish, Culpeper county, and was burgess for the count}- in the assemblies of
