[I remember that once I had a mind to try, Whether the Coldness produced upon the Solution of beaten Sal Armoniac in water, might not be more probably referr'd to some change of Texture or Motion resulting from the action of the Liquor upon the Salt, than to any Infrigidation of the water made by the suddain dispersion of so many Saline grains of powder, which by reason of their Solidity may be suspected to be actually more cold than the Water they are put into; I therefore provided a Glass full of that Liquor, and having brought it to such a Temper, that its warmth made the Spirit of Wine in the seal'd Weather-glassma-
