Sieit kin's, Winto?i, was elected, and the royal assent given to his election 29th Jan. 1304-5--. On 10th March Robert, archbishop of Canterbury, informed his Majesty that he had examined--^ into and con- firmed the election of Henry de Merewell as bishop of Winchester-*, and the King thereupon restored the temporalities to him two days afterwards'^'. He was consecrated at Canterbury 30th May and en- throned 10th Oct. He died at Farnham 29th June 1316-. The conge d'elire, vice bishop Merewell, is dated 8th July 13 16-", and 1316 John dk ^x-isuw.iz^ dean of St. PauVs and chancellor of loEdw. II. Enfjland^ was elected 26th July 1316-^; he received the royal assent to his election 5th Aug.-- and the temporalities 23rd Sept.-^^ He died at Winchester House in South wark at the latter end of Oct. 1319-^', and was buried in the church of St. Mary Overy-^^.
