He died 29th April 1594, and was buried in his own cathedral^**. His will, dated 16th Jan. 1593—4, was proved 9th May 1594**^. The license to elect a bishop in the room of bishop Cowper is dated 29th Dec. 1594'^'^*. 1595 WiLLiA.M Vyki:ham, bishop of Lincoln^ was elected to 36 Eiiz. this see 7th Jan. 1594-5, had the royal assent 12th Fcb.^', and the temporalities were restored 14th March-'-. He was confirmed 22nd Feb. He died 11th June 1595, and was buried in the church of St. Saviour, Southwark. 1595 William Day, S.T.P., dean of Windsor^ was elected 37 EHz. 31'd Nov. 1595, confirmed 22nd Jan. 1595-6, and consecrated at Lambeth on the 25th of the same month. He died 20th Sept. 1596. 1597 Thomas Bilsox, bishoj) of Worcester, was elected to this 39 Eliz. see 29th April 1597, confirmed 13th May following'^*. He died 18th June 1616, aetat. 69, and was buried in Westminster Abbey-. 1616 James Montaguk, bishop of Bath and Wdh, was elected 14 Jac. I. to this see 26th Juno 1616, and confirmed 4th Oct.'^'. He died at Greenwich 20th July 1618, cetat. 50*^', and was buried at Batli. The conge d'elire for his successor is dated 29th July 1618^^. 1619 Lancklot Andrews, bishop of Ely '^"^^ was translated to 16 Jnc. I. ^" Ilejf.
