Capistrano, Cali. San Juan Capistrano, CA, Friday, July 1, 1910 July 1, 1910.

Up at 6:45. Cloudy, cloudy, clearing about 10 a.m. At 8:30 Mrs. Barnes took us in a wagon to Dana Point Dana Point, California, where we reached the beach at 9:30 and began our tramp up the beach at low tide. Collected a great deal of small stuff, mostly gastropods Gastropoda. Only a few chitons chiton and no large limpets limpet. Pomaulax undosa Pomaulax undosa not common. About 6 miles south of Laguna Laguna Beach, CA (at 3 arches) we had to leave the beach and take to the road back on the bluffs on account of inability to pass the numerous rocky points and the great labor of carrying the packs up and down the bluffs. Reached Laguna Laguna Beach, CA at 5 p.m. and got a room at the hotel. Very tired. Retired about 8 p.m.
