Skinned the rat rat after dinner. Then we went up the mountain north of creek. Saw two western robins Turdus migratorius ((?)) and heard several more. Took another solitaire Myadestes townsendi. I returned to skin the mice mice and birds, while John went to the Marchioness Tunnel and brought back two bats bat and an arctic towhee towhee. I skinned and prepared the two bats and two mice. We had the phonograph running all evening. Has been windy today. Bright tonight, 20˚ above zero at 9:30 p.m.

Marchioness Tunnel Dec. 23, 1909 December 23, 1909

16˚ above at 6:00 a.m., bright morning. While I was skinning birds, Blanchard went out and shot a robin Turdus migratorius and a pygmy nuthatch Sitta pygmaea. I caught another house mouse Mus musculus and a gray headed junco Junco hyemalis caniceps in traps in the chicken coop. I put up two solitaires Myadestes townsendi, robin Turdus migratoriusand one arctic towhee towhee. Returned to Boulder Boulder, CO at 4 p.m.
