The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.

The election of Mr. E. E. Speight and the Rev. H. A. Harris as members of the Society was announced.

The death of Mr. J. T. Herbertson, and the resignation of Mrs. C. Sidgwick, were also announced.

Mr. Hartland exhibited a photograph, sent by Dr. Maclagan, of a piece of wood used in Caithness in 1810 for making sacred fire, and read an account written by the Rev. G. Sutherland of Torosay, in the Isle of Mull, of the
