Billy and Molly's parting.

LOVE I am coming take my leave,
Therefor my charming girl do not grieve,
For I am bound to the Spanish shore,
To leave my charming girl whom I adore.

Billy, Billy hark unto me,
How many ships are lost at sea?
Your safer staying in your true love's arms,
Free from all dangers and cold bitter storms.

No storms nor dangers will I fear,
I will go to sea in a privateer;
And if should please God for to spare my life,
When I return I will make you my wife

There is one thing more desturbs my mind,
Same other girl I’m afraid you’d find:
When you’re sailing on the Spanish shore,
You will never think of your Molly more.

If ten thousand fine girls I see,
None shall enjoy my heart but thee,
O then said Molly since you are so true,
I will never wed none my dear, but you.

This young couple they did part,
Few know the grief of true lovers heart.
Now he took shipping and away he went,
Leaving his Molly in tears to lament.

Fortune prov’d to him most kind.
Sent him a sweet and prosperous wind
And sent him safe from the Spanish shore,
Unto his charmer whom he did adore.
