To the honour of Debi Chaturbhuji a yearly festival is held in the month of April (Chait badi ashtimi), and on the Dasahra festival in the month of Kuar.^ Some five or six thousand people attend at both. There is one Sangat in which a Nanak Shdhi faqir lives, and a local deity Eaja Bir, probably some old aboriginal hero, is worshipped here. It stands in the form of a heap of stones on the old Bhar dih. His worship is performed on Tiesdays and Sundays by Hindu women, and a goat is sacrificed to him on the occasion of any pressing domestic want.
