Josiah7 Chase was born November 30, 1713, graduated at Harvard College in 1738, and ordained as the first minister over Spruce Creek Parish, Kittery, September 19, 1750. He m. 5 April, 1743, Sarah Tufts and had four children. He was drowned 17 Dec, 1778, by falling into Spruce Creek. See Reg., X., 45.
