8. Witodlīce his nēahgebūras and þā þe hine gesāwon þā hē wǣdla was cwǣdon, Hū nis þis se ðe sæt and wǣdlode?

9. Sume cwǣdon, Hē hyt is; sume cwǣdon, Nese, ac is him gelīc. Hē cwæþ sōðlīce, Ic hit eom.

10. Đā cwǣdon hig tō him, Hū wǣron þīne ēagan geopenede?[1]

11. Hē andswarode and cwæð, Sē man þe is genemned Hǣlend worhte fenn, and smyrede mīne ēagan, and cwæð tō mē, Gā tō Syloes mere, and þweah þē; and ic ēode and þwōh mē, and geseah.[2]

12. Đā cwǣdon hig tō him, Hwār is hē? Þā cwæð hē, Ic nāt.

13. Hig lǣddon tō þām Phariseon þone þe þār blind wæs.[3]

14. Hit was restedæg þā sē Hǣlend worhte þæt fenn, and his ēagan untȳnde.[4]

15. Eft þā Pharisei hyne āxsedon hū hē gesāwe. He cwæð tō him, Hē dyde fenn ofer mīne ēagan, and ic þwōh, and ic gesēo.[5]
