Bouton, John Bell, journalist, author, was born March 15, 1830, in Concord, N.H. In 1857-64 he was one of the editors of the Journal of Commerce of New York City. He is the author of Loved and Lost, Essays; Bound the Block, a novel; Treasury of Travel and Adventure; Memoir of General Bell; Roundabout to Moscow, an Epicurean Journey; and Uncle Sam's Church. Boutou, iNathaniel, clergyman, historian, author, was born June 29, 1797, in Norwalk. Conn. He was state historian of iNew Hampshire. He is best known for his edition of ten volumes of Provincial Records; and History of Concord and New Hampshire. He died June 6, 1878, in Concord, N.H. Boutwell, George Sewall, governor, congressman, United States senator, author, was born Jan. 28, 1818, in Brookline, Mass. He was the nineteenth governor of Massachusetts in 1851-53; in 1869-73 he was secretary of the treasury; and in 1843-50 was a memljer of the Massachusetts legislature. He was a member of the Peace congress in 1861; and was a commissioner for the revision of the statutes of the United States. In 1863-71 he was a representative to the thirty-eighth, thirty-ninth, fortieth and forty-first congresses; and in 1873-77 was a United States senator. He is the author of
Thoughts on Educational Topics; Manual of the Direct and Excise Tax System of the United States; The Tax-Payer's Manual: Speeches and Papers relating to the Rebellion; I am a Republican: History of the Republican Party; The Lawyer, Statesman and Soldier; and the Constitution of the United States at the End of the First Century. He died in 1905, in Groton, Mass. Bouve, Edward Tracy, author. He is the autuor of Centuries Apart; and other works. Bouve, Mrs. Pauline Carrington, journalist, author, poet, was born in Little Rock, Ark. She is a journalist of Boston, Mass. She is the author of Their Shadows Before; and a volume of Poems. Bouve, Thomas Tracy, merchant, author, was born Jan. 14, 1815, in Boston, Mass. For many years he filled the offices of curator and councilor to the Boston society of natural history; and in 1870-80 was its president. He was the author of a History of the Boston Society of Natural History for the First Half Century of its Existence, ending in 1880. He died June 3, 1896, in Hingham,

In 1883 she was a student in St. Mary's school of Knoxville, 111.; and is now a teacher in the Wendell Phillips' high school of Chicago, 111.
