Bucklin, Benjamin F., soldier, was born in Rhode Island. In 1862 he was a captain in the department of commissary of subsistence. He served throughout the civil war; and attained the rank of second lieutenant in the United States army. In 1865 he was brevetted major of volunteers for faithful service in the subsistence department; and was brevetted lieutenant-colonel of volunteers for faithful, meritorious and gallant services during the civil war. In 1865-67 he was second lieutenant in the thirty-fourth regiment United States infantry. He died Jan. 15, 1880. Bucklin, James W., lawyer, statesman, was born Nov. 13, 1856, in Big Rock, 111.
