Feb. 1, 1760, in Nottingham, N.H. In 1813-17 he was a representative from New nampshire, to the thirteenth and fourteenth congresses. He was aide to Governor Gillman. He died Dec. 17, 1831, in Nottingham, N.H. Cilley, Bradbury Longfellow, educator, linguist, was born Sept. 6, 1838, in Nottingham, N.H. In 1859 he was elected professor of ancient languages in Phillips Exeter academy, where he taught Greek and latin. He was trustee of the Exeter public library; the Kensington social library; and the Union five-cents savings bank. He died March 31, 1809, in Exeter. Cilley, Jonathan, lawyer, congressman, was born July 2, 1803, in Nottingham, N.H. He was at one time speaker of the house of representatives of Maine, of which he was a member in 1832-37. He was a presidential elector in 1832. In 1837-38 he was a representative from Maine to the twenty-flfth congress. He died Feb. 24, 1838, in Bladensburg, Md. He was the editor of Cist's Advertiser in 1844-53; of three volumes of Annals of Cincinnati in 1841-51 and in 1859; and of a work entitled Cincinnati Miscellany. He died Sept. 8, 1868, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

manufacturer, philanthropist, 19, 1791, in Hopkinton, Mass. He early established a shoe factory in Boston; and by his enterprise and industry accumulated a large fortune. Among those endowed by him were Wesleyan university, the Wilbraham academy, and the Boston theological seminary. He died Feb. 23, 1871, in Boston, Mass. Claflin, Mrs. Mary Bucklin, author, was born in Massachusetts. She was the author of Brampton Sketches; Personal Recollections; and Under the Elms. She died in Claflin, Lee,
