She died Feb. 23, 1801, in Graeme Park, Pa. Ferguson, Mrs. Emma Henry, musician, composer, author, was born Feb. 14, 1840, at Red Hill, Charlotte county, Va., the burial place of her grandfather, Patrick Henry. She was educated in private schools in Virginia; and graduated in music at the Paris conservatory of music. In 1858 she married Major James B. Ferguson, now deceased. For fifteen years she was engaged as music teacher of the piano in Virginia; and was a private teacher of English history, American literature, French, and the She was the author of art of composition. Courage and Loyalty, a novel; Ocean Wave, a serial story; and numerous sketches, short stories and musical reviews. Amongst her musical compositions are Monogram Waltzes, Initial Waltzes and Signature Waltzes; besides numerous Exercises, Musical Symphonies, and Arrangement of Themes for Piano. She died in 1905 in Balham, Va. president.

Since 1898 he has been president of the Pomona college at Claremont, Cal. He is the author of History of the First Church of Christ of Milford, Conn. Ferguson, George Albert, educator, chemist, author, was born Aug. 31, 1868, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Since 1893 he has been examiner of medical supplies in the United States interior department. Since 1896 he has been professor of chemistry in the New York college of pharmacy. He is the autho of Elliott and Ferguson's Qualitative Chemical Analysis.

from the Washington and Lee university with the degree of M.A. in 1873. He graduated from the law department of that university in 1874; and commenced the practice of his profession at Wheeling, W.Va., where he remained until the year 1882. In 1884 he located in Albuquerque, N.M., where he has since successfully practiced his pro-
