Until 1888 he filled pastorates in the protestant episcopal church in Mis.souri and Kansas. 1888 he was consecrated missionary In bishop in the protestant episcopal church; and in 1888 until his death had charge of the missionary district of Nevada and I'tah. He was president of St. Mark's hospital of Salt I.Jike city; and devoted his Iwst efforts to christian wlucation. He died Dec. 3, 1903, in Salt Ijike Citv, Utah.

Leonard, Adna B., clergyman, prohibititmist, was born Aug. 2, 1837, in Mahoning county, Ohio. He received a thorough education; graduating from the Mount Union college of Ohio. He has received the degrees of D.D. from the university of New Orleans ; and LL.D. Union Slount from college. In 1860 he entered the methodist ministry ; and has fillinl many pastorates in the methodist episcopal church. In 1888 he became corresponding secretary of th* metho«list ••piscopal church with oflices in New York city. In 188'! he was a candidate for governor on the prohibition ticket.
