The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 20th December, 1956, and is hereby published for general information:—
THE HINDU MARRIAGE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1956
No. 73 of 1956
An Act to amend the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.
Be it enacted by Parliament in the Seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
1. This Act may be calledShort title. the Hindu Marriage (Amendment) Act, 1956.
2. InAmendment of section 10. clause (d) of sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, for the words "has, immediately before",25 of 1955. the words "has, for a period of not less than three years immediately preceding" shall be substituted.
