                  CHAP. II.

How the Cobler entertained the King in his

 Cellar, and of the disturbance they had
 like to have had by his wife Joan.

SO the cobler took the King with him

 over the way, where he had his

cellar adjoining to the stall, which was handsomely and neatly furnished for a man of his profession. Into his cellar he had the king; there, said he, sit down, you are welcome, but I must desire you to speak; softly, for fear of waking my
