AMATO, Mathew,

Accountant.

Born in New York City, August 15, 1899, and educated in the public schools and business school both there and in Hoboken, New Jersey, Mathew Amato is the son of Michael and Angelina (Pet- rizzo) Amato, both of whom were natives of Italy, where the father was a hatter and merchant. When Mathew Amato’s education was completed, he entered business as a bookkeeper and accountant in the silk business, which is his present occupation. In politics he is a Democrat, and in religion, a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, of Hoboken.

Mr. Amato was united in marriage, at Jersey City, New Jersey, with Antoin- ette Policastro, a native of Hoboken, and a daughter of Thomas and Maria (Rongo) Policastro, of Italy.

VIETHEER, Neil,

Investment Broker.

Among the native-born sons of the city of Hoboken, New Jersey, who are materially aiding in the advancement of its economic interests is Neil Vietheer, investment broker, who for the past ten years has been successfully engaged in business there. Mr. Vietheer is a son of Richard Vietheer, who was also born in Hoboken, and who has spent practically his entire life in his native city.

Richard Vietheer, father of Neil Vie- theer, was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, and for many years was engaged in the commission business there. He is one of the very well known citizens of Hoboken, and politically gives his support to the Democratic party. He is an attendant of the Church of St. Mary, in Hoboken. He married Anna Coster, who was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and died in Hobo- ken, in December, 1920, and they became the parents of five children, all born in Hoboken.

Neil Vietheer, son of Richard and Anna (Coster) Vietheer, was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, October 15, 1886, and re- ceived a good practical education in the public schools of his native city. He early became associated with his father’s large commission business, and from the beginning of his active career has specu- lated in the handling of merchandise. As an investment broker he has been notably successful and has built up a large and important business, which is now num- bered among the well established con- cerns of the city. His excellent business qualifications, as well as his personal characteristics, have won for him the con- fidence and esteem of all with whom he is brought in contact, and his already large business is steadily growing. In addition to his responsibilities in connec- tion with his own business, he is also identified with the Jefferson Trust Com- pany, of Hoboken, New Jersey. Politi- cally he gives his support to the principles and the candidates of the Democratic party. During the World War he en- listed for service in the United States army, in 1918, as a member of the Artil- lery Corps, 309th Division, and served with that unit to the time of his discharge from Camp Dix, at Wrightstown, New Jersey, in May, 1919. His religious affili- ation 1s with St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, of Hoboken, New Jersey.

At New York City, October 29, 1915, Neil Vietheer married Maud Green, who was born in New London, Connecticut, daughter of Benjamin Green, a contrac-727
