CHAP. VII.
Containing some tricks of Dr. Faustus.
DR. Faustus having attained the desire of his spirit, had now full power to act or do any thing whatever he pleased; upon a time the Emperor had a desire to see him, and likewise some of the Doctor’s tricks; whereupon he was requested by the Emperor, to do somewhat to make him merry; but the Doctor in the meanwhile looking around him he at last espied a great lord looking out at a window, and the Doctor calling his Spirit to help him, he in an instant fastened a large pair of horns upon the Lord’s head, that he could not get his head in till Faustus took off the horns again which were soon taken off invisibly; The Lord whom Faustus served so, was extremely vexed, and resolved to be revenged on the Doctor, and to that end lay a mile out of town for Faustus’s passing by he being that day to depart for the country; Faustus;
