His head is bent downward three-quarters left. On the back of his head, to the right, he wears a cap with a light-blue feather. At the throat and the wrists his white shirt peeps from under his doublet. He holds a flute in his right hand, and raises his left hand as if to beat time to his singing. He looks down at a book spread out before him to the left. Light-grey background. Signed on the right at foot with the monogram ; canvas, 27^ inches by 21 1 inches. Sales. B.
