On the left a road leads through a wood to a rough wooden bridge in front. On the bridge is a woman carrying a bundle on her head and leading a boy. A tree-stump is seen amid dense undergrowth on a hill sloping down to a pool which is in strong sunlight. On the right bank are trees, sharply relieved against the clear sky.
