He sits at a table, holding a letter in his left hand which rests on a book. With the right hand he makes a gesture as if he is speaking. In the right background is a landscape. [Pendant to 165.] This and the pendant "are exquisite examples of this elaborate master" (Sm.). Panel, 8 inches by 7 inches. He leans his right hand on his hip, and with his left hand makes a gesture as if he is speaking. Behind him is a blue chair. On the extreme left is a vista. Above to the right is an orange drapery.
