having the shortest term to serve, not holding his office by appointment, or election to fill a vacancy, shall be the Chief Justice, and shall preside at all terms of the Supreme Court; and, in case of his absence, the Justice, having in like manner the next shortest term to serve, shall preside in his stead.

Sec. 7. No Justice of the Supreme Court shall be eligible to any other office of trust or profit, under the laws of this State during the term for which he was elected.

Sec. 8. At least four terms of the Supreme Court shall be held annually; two terms at the seat of state government, and two terms at the city of Lewiston, in Nez Perce county. In case
