THIs figure shows the brain, and the nerves passing from it on each side of the esophagus to the first ganglion. It shows the nervous chord, with its numerous ganglia continued to the tail, and giving off branches in a similar manner throughout its course.

DORSAL ASPECT OF THE EARTH WORM.

After removing the dorsal parietes the brain is seen, and the membranous sacs, or hearts, communicating with the dorsal bloodvessel.
