Having spent some time in discussing the substitute of Mr. Strickland, upon motion

The House adjourned until 9 o'clock, Monday morning.


MONDAY, November 26, 1849.

Mr. Pringle moved to reconsider so much of the Journal of Saturdav as relates to the rejection of the substitute of Mr. Gartrell for the substitute offered by Mr. Strickland, referring the election of Judges to the people.

Whereupon the yeas and nays were required to be recorded, amd are yeas61, nays 36.
